Blind Dates

I recently saw this TV show called “Disaster Dates”. It’s when a person’s “friend” sets them up on a blind date with a fool that totally embarrasses the person. It’s supposed to be funny.

I have a couple of friends who want to set me up on blind dates. Really, I don’t see the big deal. It’s a way to meet people and if it doesn’t work out, hey, I got a meal or play out of the deal. And maybe a new platonic friend.

I haven’t had a really bad blind date. A couple of them left me thinking “why were we set up? Because we’re both single?” (NOTE to married friends: Being single should NOT be the ONLY criterion for setting up single friends).

So I want you to describe your worst and best blind dates. What happened, how did it end, what did you learn but…

How do you deal with different personalities? Especially in the workplace?

I started my new job about 3 months ago and I still enjoy it very much. I’m working on a high profile project in which I have a lead part but others have input. I’m finding that after decisions are made, the concept changes. I have no problem with this but it’s always because I misunderstood or something of that nature. Things change so quickly that before I go back to my desk, things have changed. Sometimes, I know, sometimes I don’t.

Fads and Trends

There are so many fads and trends in this world. Every season, the fashion industry tells what the trend will be for that season. You really never have the latest electronic gizmo because a better and more improved gadget is out the next month. Then there’s Facebook (which I ♥), Twitter (which I don’t ♥), LinkedIn, Second Life, MySpace, etc. I’ll admit it.

New Lease on Life

Today is July 19, 2009 and my life is great!!!!

I”m saying that because the last 4 years have been a struggle. I was unemployed for a period of time, dealt with some of the most evil people on earth, had health issues, money, issues, relationship issues, etc. I could go on and on.

Moving on Up!

I always liked the theme song to the Jeffersons. It’s very catchy! George and Weezy finally moved on up. Are you moving on up in your career?

I’m ready to buy a house.

The market is great right now. And my neighbor and his loud music sucks (seriously, I shouldn’t have to call the po-po for this). It doesn’t hurt to look, right?

I must say, I am quite impressed by our First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama. I see many qualities in her that I feel make her a great role model for young girls and even old women like me! I like Dr. Jill Biden too.

 

My Soon-to-be Ex Doctor Sucks!

Yes, I’m about to rant. I was scheduled for major surgery on today and was called on Friday afternoon to say my surgery was postponed because my doctor had a personal health emergency.

That’s understandable. But here’s what pissed me off. She has no backup.
