Gossip Girl (or Women)

Do you gossip? As hard as I try not to, I get sucked in. Especially at work on a team of women (sorry). I even watch those dumb gossip shows like TMZ or look at websites like concreteloop.com. I am even beginning to like that show, “Gossip Girl”.
I know’s it’s not good.
So why do we gossip? To fit in? Are there situations in which gossip could be beneficial? Have you ever used the gossip info for your benefit?

My family feeds off of gossip. Who’s doing what, who’s dating who, what so-and-so said… it is endless. Not healthy either.
There’s also a fine line between catching up/sharing news of others, and gossiping.

lol gossip girl on cw is the bomb!!!!! lol.
hmm i think some people gossip because it makes them feel better about themselves, in the case of negative gossip. And in the case of celebrities, I think people are board, and see their life as glamorous, and interesting, they’re like the popular people in H.S. or something.
personally since H.S. i learnt not to saying anything about anyone I wont say in front of them.

For me, mean gossiping and being bored always go on together. I work at a school and there is gossip everywhere between students, teacher co workers, administration bosses, parents. With everyone gossiping about everyone, I just try to know the difference between “catching up” or just bored or being mean. I just hate it when someone come to me with a mean gossip about me! haha– I try to evade the mean kind by not being too bored– and I just feel better if I don’t hear the mean stuff, about anyone. On the other hand, of course, I love to meet up with my co-workers and catch up! ^__^

Hey Kay,
Thanks for stopping by. My twenties could be summed up in one word: chaotic.
In my twenties I focused on my career. I graduated from graduate school, got my first real job, and with that job moved 3 times in 3 years. I never was in one place where I could really put down roots. But looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing about it.
I learned that I could live somewhere without knowing anyone, meaning I could adapt to a changing environment and take care of myself.
I explored different options with my career. With no kids or husband, I was able to take risks with different jobs that helped me get where I am today.
I weeded out folks in my life that weren’t adding anything to it including a off and on boyfirend of many years.
And I dated, dated, and dated. That helped me to figure what I didn’t want in a potential mate/husband.
Hope this helps. I now blog on nltwritings.nltgrantwriting.com. Check out other blog postings.

Keep telling the world you’re thought-provoking thoughts!

Gossiping is fun until the arrow is pointed at you.
